Visiting GG

Chris' grandma lives in San Diego, so we were able to take a few days and go spend some time with GG after our family reunion. She absolutely spoiled us rotten!!! She took us to get fish tacos (our favorite!) for lunch when we got there and then we unpacked and relaxed for a while and then she took us to Joe's Crab Shack for a delicious dinner and then to a Padres game with fireworks afterwards! We loved it and now all Shea wants to do is play baseball like the big boys. :-) The next day she took us to the most amazing brunch I've ever seen. It was next to the airport and the place is called the 94th Aero Squadron (we think.) They had all these old planes and war memorbilia. It was an incredible place. They had more amazing food than I've ever seen in one place, including CRAB legs and shrimp and salmon and 10 different cheese cakes and all the amazing breakfast foods. Wow!! We ate SO much! Then we were on to Sea World! We saw Shamu and the dolphins and penguins. We petted sea stars and we even got to pet some dolphins and feed them some fish. A definite highlight for Shea and I. We had so much fun and are so grateful for the time we were able to spend with our GG!

Thanks GG!

Hansen Family Vacation

We just got home from the most wonderful family vacation. We spent a week in Southern Cali with my family. It was so fun to be with everyone and to hug and kiss and love each other's kids. I love my parents and my siblings and their spouses soooooo much! It was so good to be together. We had a couple gloomy days and then the sun came out, but we had a blast the whole time. We played at the beach and at the pool, we had professional photos taken in a park and on the beach, we went to Disneyland and the San Diego Zoo and we got to go through a session at the San Diego Temple. We read and relaxed a lot and had so much fun!

THE BEACH

I didn't get any pics of the sunny days at the beach, but our sunburns will attest to the fact that there were sunny beach days. Shea loved the beach and has been asking since we got home to go to the beach again. He doesn't quite understand about Utah apparently. Chris and I had a blast boogie boarding and body surfing. Shea had a lot of fun in the water, but decided that it was paradise to just throw sand for hours at a time. Luckily he didn't love eating it like his 3 1-year old boy cousins. :-) He also decided that it was his job to destroy each and every sand creation made by anyone else. This did not endear him to the girl cousins. :-)

DISNEYLAND
We were really, really, really looking forward to Disneyland. First, because it's one of Chris' favorite places on the planet and second, because Shea loves his Tigger blankie/doll more than life itself and we were so excited for him to meet the real Tigger. So we signed up for the Minnie and Friends Breakfast. Thanks again, Aunt Kamalani, who found out about it and made our reservations. It was a bit expensive, but really good and so awesome, because almost ALL the characters came around to our tables and the kids got to hug and kiss and talk to all of them without waiting in line or being rushed. It was so fun. Shea was absolutely in awe of Tigger, every time he came anywhere near our table Shea ran over for another hug. When he presented his Tigger to the real Tigger, Chris and I both got a little teary eyed. It was super super cool and special.

SAN DIEGO ZOO

Only a few of us were up for the Zoo, but we sure had fun. When we ask Shea about his vacation now, the first thing he says is I saw ONE BIG HIPPO!!! He was apparently VERY impressed by him. :-)

Playing Guitar with Daddy

Shea LOVES to play guitar with his daddy. When Chris gets his guitars out, Shea HAS to have a turn. He can actually make some decent sounding noise. He also sings when he plays (see second photo) , it's sooo adorable. It's very fun and makes mommy smile to see them together like this.
