How much do you think...

it would cost if say, oh, I don't know, the intersection cameras caught you rolling through a right hand turn on a red light at 8:18 on a Sunday morning?

$50?

$75??

$120???

$200????

NOPE!!!!

How about $463.
This is no exaggeration folks. And yes, I shed real tears when I opened that envelope. I just sent the check today, and I cried a little again. UGH! Consider that little lesson learned the HARD way!!

  1. WOW! That's one expensive church meeting! I had a hard to swallow driving mishap that cost a little more than that last year and I'm still crying about it! I'm feeling your pain!

  3. That is so painful. I swear that LA makes you fork out the most money for traffic violations, not that I would know of course:)

  6. I feel your pain. I got one of those a couple of years ago but it was only $375 and I thought that was bad! I can't believe the price has gone up. Just think of all of the money they rank up every day. It's robbery!

  7. we feel you're pain. ask brock--a criminal now (heehee) how much it costs when you are going 1-2 mph at stop sign instead of 0. no biggy right...unless you discover that your license has been suspended and they tow your car to the impound. We are now 561.00 into it and still have one more court hearing to go before all is said and done. sure wish the dmv would let you know you took the wrong class 3 years ago before suspending your license:(

  8. I'm so sorry. We recently went through the same thing (except it was a left-hand turn instead of right), but I decided to take the driving course to get the points off my record, which eventually added another $30 on top of it. I'm still struggling with whether we should have tried our luck on getting our insurance premiums raised instead of paying the good state of California any more money.

  9. Are they trying to avoid state bankruptcy through traffic fees?! Cal says when he was driving long haul, CA had the most expensive ticket fees by FAR in the country! What a bummer!
